Rainy Day Poem!!

Pittar patter, on the window pane,
The rain is invading our little lane.
Flooded fields all around,
Hear that windy, rainy sound.

I sit by the fire, sizzling away,
I can't believe it's such a wet day!
The roaring wind attacks my house,
Then everything is quiet, as a mouse.

The rain has stopped, the skies are clear.
It's time to go outside,
Enjoy the currant weather,
With delight.

Detention Limerick

There once was a boy who was bad,
He got a detention, and was sad,
In detention he talked,
And sadly, was caught,
So of course another detention he had!

My Secret

My secret. A special secret. A special, extraordinary secret. I have to tell someone, so I might as well write it down. My secret has been hidden from everyone. I have never told until this day. The big reveal. My day to tell the world. Do you want to know my secret? I'm still a little nervous to reveal. Are you sure you want to find out? Okay, I shouldn't reveal it but I will. I think it's the right thing to do. Is it? You tell me. You know what, I'm sure it is. Never mind my concious telling me to keep it private. Maybe I should listen. No, actually, I have to tell someone. Promise not to tell anyone. Promise? PROMISE?! Good. Then here goes...WAIT! I'm not sure about this now. Okay, I've decided. I'm going to end this now, I've run out of time.

Are you wondering why I didn't tell you, why you bothered reading this whole thing?
Well, if I told you, it wouldn't be a secret anymore, would it?

A Limerick

There was a boy called Wayne,
Who when bad would get the cane.
The cane suddenly broke,
So his teachers would poke,
Basically things stayed the same.

Alien Invasion

He pushed me against a wall, and pulled out a laser gun. He pointed down an alleyway. He wanted me to go with him. In a yard at the end of the alleyway, I saw a space ship. The hatch was open, and an alien was inside, grinning. He pointed to the ladder. I knew I was in trouble.

The Olympics

Sweat everywhere.Feel the tension build up.All about winning.Want to have the pleasure of wearing that first place gold medal.

My Scar Story

On my right knee, I have a long, thin scar which looks a lot like a reddish river. I remember it happened several years ago, on my ninth birthday. . . .

I was extremely excited for my ninth birthday, as my mother had promised it would be super fun. I had imagined for days what my party would look like, and I had used several pages of my drawing pad, sketching and coloring what it might be and look like.
The party FINALLY came around. There were balloons all over our living room, all different colors - red and blue and green and orange. Awesome! There was also piles of presents in all four corners of the room, and all sorts of other decorations, like bunting and banners and tonnes and tonnes of my favorite foods, ice cream, crisps, cake, pizza, burgers and chocolate!! Yum, yum, YUM!! My mother and father and auntie and uncle were all there, along with my two cousins and ten good friends. It was going to be the best day ever!

But it turned out to be one of the worst.

First, we play Musical Chairs, which was completely safe, although a bit wild and crazy. My mother had a smile on her face, though all this noise had probably driven her around the bend!
Next, I opened my presents. First a small one, green dinosaurs on the wrapping paper and a blue ribbon. Inside were three wristbands, one blue, one red and one white, all saying 'JOE' on them in capital letters.
Next I opened a huge present, in an orange box with green spots. This one was from my parents. I opened it, and my eyes widened with amazement. It was a huge monster truck, red with green and blue parts, massive spikes and huge black wheels.
I squealed with joy, but little did I know, soon I would hate this truck.

I was happy now, so joyful and really enjoying my party to the full. We were now playing Musical Statues, one of my favorite games. I was dancing like I didn't want to ever stop. But then. . . .

It happened so fast. I wanted to do a back flip. My parents weren't in the room, so they didn't know. I announced what I was doing to all my friends. I jumped back with a massive smile on my face. I flipped around, and landed head first on my monster truck! I screamed. My face and arms were bruised all over, and I was screaming horrendously, and when I lifted up my jeans, I saw that my knee was bleeding horribly. I screamed over and over again as my parents ran in.
"What on Earth happened?!" My father exclaimed.
"Joe tried to do a back flip!!" My friend Micky explained.
"A back flip?" My mother repeated.
"You have to be kidding me." My father said. I was still crying.
"Should we take him to the hospital?" My aunt Beth asked.
My mother examined my knee.
"No he'll be alright. It's just a scratch." But my mother didn't know how serious this was.
"It HU-U-U-URTS!!" I moaned in pain.
"Shh, shh darling. We'll put a nice bandage on it and everything will be okay." My mother hugged me. I whimpered, but stopped crying.

Now I look back at that incident, I realize that it was kind of funny. The fact that me, a nine year old, attempted to do a back flip!! I must have been too hyper from all the sugar!
I also think my mother should have taken me to hospital, because my knee hurt for the rest of that week, and all of the next week as well. But oh well. What's done is done. I'm still alive, aren't I?
It's just a scar. . . .

From Glam To Grim

I remember climbing into the car, being strapped into my car seat and driving to the airport. I remember the shrieking wails of my baby sister, and seeing crowds of people getting onto this huge, metal object with wings. That was the plane. I had no idea where I was, but I knew thing. I had heard my parents talking about it. We were leaving my home, the only world I knew.
The plane smelt of strange food and perfume. I was scared. I didn't want to leave.
I was put into a seat, next to Mum and Charlotte, my baby sister. The plane took off and I knew immediately I would hate this journey. My head was hurting. The seats were uncomfortable.
Soon we were up in the air and I watched the fluffy, frothy, candyfloss-like clouds pass by.
I also remember falling asleep and having a dream that my parents left me on the plane. I woke up screaming. People were staring. I wanted to tell them to turn away, but I only knew a few words at that time.
My dad calmed me down.
After what seemed like forever, the plane landed. Slowly, everyone got out. I held my dad's hand as we walked out of the plane. In England, it was raining, my sister was crying and it was so crowded!
I wanted to go back. I couldn't see how things would be better here than they were in California. I was confused, and tired. Soon, though, we were out of the airport and driving to wherever it was we were living. I was bored. I fell asleep.

Lava Gel - Disgusting Sweet

Gelatin with extra cow bones.

Farmers sell their cows to factories, who put them in massive blenders and blend the cows until they are nice and mushy. Then the factories get gelatin and put extra cow bones into it. Finally, the factories get lots of beetles and mash them up to get their blood. Everything is mixed together to create Lava Gel.

In It To Win It (poem)

So determined,
Cannot give up,
Have to win,
Nearly there!
So tired,
A few more steps,
YEEESSS!!!!!!

The Slums Poem.

A diseased place,
Such injustice there,
Unbelievable how hard they work,
To care for their families.
But,
A place of happiness,
Rich in community,
They know nothing else,
SLUM.

Mini Sagas - From Hunter To Hunted

Hidden away. Nobody sees me. Concealed among the bushes and trees.
All of a sudden, I hear a bang and spot a creature through the jungle. Another bang. Everything goes black.
______________
A couple of weeks later...
"Tiger rug, selling for forty pounds! Get it while you can, at only forty pounds!"

Mini Sagas - Prison

Imprisonment. Unable to talk to friends or play games and have fun. Yelling all around me. It stops. Am I deaf? No, I'm not, but he must have come in. I scream inside my head. I stare out the only window. The Sun pours in like water from a jug. I'm dying inside.
The bell rings. I'm free.
