Ella The Super Agent- Forbidden

Chapter 1

I sat on my bed, fanning myself with the money Becky had given me for a pay check. $100.00, what could I spend with that?! Suddenly, my phone rang. It was Becky.
“Hi Becky!” I said.
“Hi Ella.” Becky replied.
“What's up?” I asked.
“Ella, we need you over in H.Q. now. Call Megan and tell her too.” Becky instructed.
“Alright.” I obeyed.
I hung up and called Megan.
“Heyya!” She said brightly.
“Hi, Megan.” I replied.
“Ella! What's up?” Megan asked.
“Becky just called me to say she needs us over in H.Q. immediately. I don't know why, but she said for me to tell you, too.” I explained.
“Got it, I'm on my bike right now.” Megan said. She hung up. I went outside and got onto my stylish electric bike. Then I cycled over to H.Q.
“Hey Becky, what's wrong?” I said as I walked into H.Q. I had my back turned so I hadn't seen what Becky wanted me to seen yet.
“Ella, turn around.” Lola, (the disguise girl), told me. So I did, and I was shocked.
H.Q. was a mess, chairs had been knocked over, Becky's control machines and trackers were buzzing like mad, coffee was all over the floor, and, spray painted on the wall was, 'HA HA!'
We had been vandalized.

Chapter 2

“This is terrible.” I said.
“I know, they left the lights on.” Izzie sighed. (She's another GSS agent.)
“Not that! Our H.Q. has been ruined!!” I yelled.
“Oh.” Izzie said.
“This is what I wanted you for Ella, Megan. Several  places have been vandalized. The book shop down town, the bakery and Barneys. I expect there will be more.” Becky said.
“Oh no! I won't be able to go shopping!” Izzie exclaimed. We all sighed.
“We need to stop them!” Megan shouted.
“We will, but first we need to clean up.” I said.
“No, not yet, just look for clues first. Whoever vandalized us must of left clues.” Becky instructed.
Me and Megan and Izzie looked around for clues. We only found a small piece of green cloth.
“Will this help?” I asked.
“Yes. Now we can clean up.” Becky said as we got to work.
We had a mega tidy/clean up. Megan mopped up the coffee, Becky saw to her control machines and trackers, Lola and I re-painted the walls, Lily pushed the chairs in and Izzie dusted, generally cleaning up.
“Now what?” Megan breathed when we were all done.
“Go home everyone, I will anylize this fabric.” Becky suggested.
“Alright. Tomorrow we'll really get to work.” Lily said as she walked out of the door with Lola, (they're twins.)
“See you, Becky!” I called.
“OK, Ella.” Becky replied.

Chapter 3

In the morning, we all met up at H.Q. again. Becky had the police with her.
“I have an anouncement to make, guys.” Becky said when we were all there.
“Yes?” Said Lola and Lily in unision, (they always do that.)
“We're not going to be solving this case.” Becky announced.
“Why?” Izzie asked.
“Let's not go into details right now, Izzie. I'll just say I've never solved a case like this, with no clues except one piece of fabric.” Becky said,
“I think we could do it, Becky, in fact, I know we can.” Argued Hilary (another agent.)
“We can't, Hilary. Now I don't want anyone trying to solve this case. No investigating, nothing. We'll let the police handle it, OK. Am I clear?” Becky said firmly.
“Yes.” We all muttered.
“Can we help a little bit?” Megan asked.
“No, Megan. Let the police do it all.” Becky answered.
“That's not fair! We're good at solving mysteries.” Izzie protested.
“We don't have the experience, Izzie.” Becky said.
“You do! You've been in the GSS for ten years!” Hilary exclaimed.
“Even so, it's not going to happen. We're not solving the case, or having anything to do with it, end of discussion.” Becky demanded. We all simply nodded, and said nothing else.

Chapter 4

I went home after leaving H.Q. and popping into the supermarket and buying some batteries for my torch. When I got home, Mum had left me a note saying,

Popped out for a while, be back soon.

I was puzzled. The note wasn't in my mum's swirly handwriting. Hmmm, I thought. Then I had it!  Mum had been kidnapped. The criminal had left a note to deceive me. Well, Mr. Villian, look out, your dealing with Ella the Super Agent.

An hour later I was trying to figure out how long ago the note had been written by the faded ink. Then someone called.
“Yes?” I answered.
“Ella, it's me. Megan. Something terrible has happened.” Megan said, she was crying.
“Oh no, what's happened Megan?” I asked.
“Me and my dad's flat has been trashed too!” Megan burst into puddles of tears.
“That is terrible.” I said.
“It gets worse. Someone has eaten all the chocolate chip cookies I made at the weekend!” Megan sniffed.
“Er, maybe that's not too terrible. But get this, my mum's been kidnapped!” I exclaimed.
Megan gasped. “What?”

Chapter 5

“Oh, Ella, you must be so worried!” Megan exclaimed.
“I am.” I said.
“I'm coming over.” Megan said.
“No, don't. I'll do it by myself. I'm a super agent, aren't I?” I said.
“Yeah, but be careful.” Megan rang off.
I got back to my working out how long ago the note was written by the faded ink. I stared it at, and got out my magnifying glass. On the paper I saw little scratch marks made by an eraser on a pencil. They must of rubbed something out. Then I gasped, I only knew one person who used a pencil always. Hilary!!! But it couldn't be her. Anyone in New York could use a pencil, couldn't they?

In the morning I rang my mum's cell phone. It started ringing, and eventually someone answered.
“Hello?” They asked. It sounded like a woman, or a girl.
“Emily! It's you isn't it?” I asked.
“Don't be silly, she's behind bars.” The girl laughed. Then I realised, it was Hilary!
“Hilary, why are you doing this?” I asked.
“Ever heard of fun? Take a joke, Ella!” Hilary laughed again.
“No, ever heard of crime, Hilary! Kidnapping and vandalizing!” I exclaimed.
“I want to live a life of adventure!” Hilary said.
“Where's my mum, Hilary?” I exclaimed.
“Safe. Don't worry, she's just doing a little errand for me, and then I'll give her back. Deal?” Hilary asked.
“No, no deal, I'm calling the police!” I exclaimed.

But Hilary had hung up already.

Chapter 6

I rang Mum's mobile again and again, but no one picked up. But I didn't give up. I rang Hilary's mobile instead. This time she did pick up.
“What Ella?” She asked.
“What's the errend your making my mum do?” I demanded.
“I heard she's a computer expert, so I thought I could get her to hack into the government's website and steal a few secrets. She's still refusing to do it but I'll find a way.” Hilary replied causually.
“She won't do that, ever.” I said.
“Then she won't see you again, ever.” Hilary mocked.
“Just let her go, Hilary!” I exclaimed.
“Relax Ella, Mummy will be fine.” Hilary laughed.
“At least let me talk to her.” I begged.
“Oh, alright. Elaine, come over here.” I heard Hilary say. There was a noise then Mum said,
“Ella?”
“Mum! Oh, are you alright?!” I exclaimed.
“I'm fine, darling. But listen carefully, Hilary's got me at 5th Avenue. I don't know where. But it's an old building, brown, dark and with bricked up windows. Hurry, OK?” Mum whispered.
“Enough chit-chat. Bye Ella!” I heard Hilary say, and she hung up, before Mum could say any more.
“Hilary! Oh, I will get you, and my mum!!” I exclaimed. I was soooo angry.

Chapter 7

The next day I set off for 5th Avenue. I got a cab, and hurried it over.
“Thanks.” I said as I got out and paid the driver. Then I set off down the road. I looked carefully at each building. Hmm, the first one was pale and modern, as was the secong. As I kept looking, most buildings were pale and modern, so I decided it would be easy to pick out the building with Mum in it.
Then came the challenge. I saw two buildings exactly what Mum had described, old, dark and brown. I knew there was one bit more of information but I couldn't remember it. Broken glass? No, that wasn't it.  Trees in the garden? No, don't think so. Weeds everywhere, that couldn't be it. Then I had it. Bricked up windows! I looked at the right house, which had broken windows, not bricked up windows, The left house, though, was just as Mum had said,so I crept down the path, and  through the open door.
In the main room, Mum was walking about, with Hilary watching her slyly. As every good agent knows, don't make an entrance. Creep in, and then grab what your looking for and make a run for it. So, I made a hand gesture to Mum, who blinked twice then nodded.
“Uh, Hilary, can I have a glass of water?” She asked.
“Go get it yourself.” Hilary responded. Mum nodded, and ran out to me. She hugged me tight.
“Oh, darling!” She said loudly.
“Shhh! No time for greetings now, let's get out of here!” I hissed.

Chapter 8

We ran out of the big building, and all the way out of 5th Avenue. Just as we turned, Hilary saw us and started running towards us. We saw two boys on motercycles, and ran over to them.
“Hey, want fifteen bucks each for your motebikes?” I asked.
“Whatever.” They said, as I handed them the money.
“OK, Mum, let's go!” I exclaimed.

*           *          *

After an hour of being at home, I was up in my room and heard rustling noises at the window. I ignored it, and got back to the book I was reading. But the rustling kept bugging me, so I opened the window, and in jumped.....Hilary.

“What now!?” I exclaimed.
“I believe your mum owes me some government secrets.” Hilary smirked.
“No she doesn't.” I said.
“Tell me where she is!” Hilary yelled, just as Mum rushed upstairs.
“What's going on?” She asked, and then she saw Hilary.
“Oh, you.” She whispered.
“Oh, Elaine. I have something to tell you!” Hilary took a deep breath, “your daughter has been solving dangerous mysteries for the GSS behind your back!!!”

Chapter 9

It was five minutes later and Hilary had been taken by the police to the police station. Mum and me were left talking.
“Why didn't you tell me?” She asked.
“I was afraid you'd make fuss, and give away any information I told you.” I confessed.
“Of course I wouldn't do that.” Mum replied.
“I know.” I said.
“You can trust me, Ella, I'm your mum.” Mum said. I hugged her close.
“I know.” I repeated.
Then Megan rushed into the house.
“Ella! I've got Becky on the phone and she really needs to speak to you!” She announced loudly. She handed me the phone.
“Becky?” I said.
“Ella, I told you. No solving this case.” She paused.
“I'm sorry Becky.” I said.
“I wasn't finished. I'm glad you did all the same, otherwise we would have had a criminal loose in the agency. Thank you.” Becky said, and I could tell she was smiling.
“Hilary's at the police station now, Becky.” I told her.
“Good to know. Oh, and I need you over here with Megan at 7:00pm. Wear your best dresses.” Becky said, then she hung up.

Chapter 10

At 7:00 me and Megan were wearing our nicest party dresses, and were over at H.Q. with Becky and the other agents, celebrating ten years of the GSS.
“I like your dresses, girls.” Izzie said to me and Megan, glancing at Megan's short above the knees sripy brown and white dress, with her white ballet flats and her pearl necklace, and smiling at my dazzling knee-length midnight blue dress with a diamond belt around the waist, a diamond necklace on my neck and blue heels on my feet.
“I like yours, Izzie.” I replied, admiring her girly coral pink dress, with her blonde hair tied into a pony tail and her coral pink flip-flops.
Izzie moved on to see her friend Diane, another GSS agent, there were only four now Hilary had gone. Then Becky came over to us. She looked so different with her hair tyed into a bun and a black ankle length dress on her.
“Hi, girls, glad you could make it. I have another thing for you to do though, sorry, you get no break of jobs. I need to find a new person for the GSS, and I want you to pick her. OK? She needs to be adventurous, know what she's doing and brave.” Becky offered.
“Sure!” I exclaimed, then winked at Megan. We both knew who fitted the bill perfectly. As Megan winked back, we were both thinking of her, the newest agent of the GSS.
“I think we know the perfect person....” Megan said. She and I were both thinking, our friend Polly!
